About MommySwami

MommySwami is a family owned and operated business dedicated to making it ALL better for our family, your family, and the world at large.  It all began when I was pregnant with my first baby.  I started exploring the  popular baby products on the market and quickly learned that the primary ingredients were not worthy of humanity much less our little ones:  phthalates, petroleum, fish oils, and sodium laurel sulfate to name a few – all brightly packaged in plastic full of BPA.

Knowing this was unacceptable for my baby (and yours), I began studying the art of aromatherapy and discovered the amazing therapeutic properties of essential oils.  Soon, I was making my own products with the highest quality ingredients possible.

Today, MommySwami is two moms and two dads dedicated to educating other families that there is an alternative to those targeted to the masses -- organic, eco-friendly, effective products for your babies that you can feel good about using.  We lovingly bottle each blend by hand in small batches, and we hope you enjoy our products as much as we believe in them.

Rest easy, we’re making it all better,

Why bottle in glass containers?

MommySwami utilizes only the finest, highest quality essential oils available in the making of our products.  These oils must be stored in a dark glass bottle and in a cool dry place.  Stored properly, the oil should maintain its healing properties and fragrance for approximately two years from the date it is bottled.

However, if bottled in plastic, the essential oils eventually break down the interior of the container which leaches into the blend and contaminates its contents.  The result is ruin, and the product should be discarded.

As a family company built by moms and dads, we want the very best for our children and yours.  And, we understand that glass and young children typically should not go hand in hand.  But we asked ourselves, “Why go through the effort and expense of creating oil blends of this caliber, only to turn around and house them in an inferior bottle?”  Every instinct told us to do it right.

So, we suggest that parents and caregivers enjoy our blends, but (like most common sense cautions) please keep them out of little hands.  Even if the product was not in a breakable container, it would still be harmful if swallowed (even though it is organic!).   In turn, we will continue to create the best products possible and package them safely.

Rest easy, we’re making it all better,

What does it all mean? organic, wildharvested, cultivated without chemicals

However, finding a fantastic oil or ingredient created honestly, naturally, and harmlessly is absolutely possible.  I’ve learned that “certified organic” is a stringent and expensive seal to acquire (and completely unrealistic for many small farmers). ...<< MORE >>
